A Governor's Guide to Capital Projects
Thursday 15 May 2008 - Duxbury Park, Chorley
This Seminar Will Be of Interest To
Governors of colleges intending to or interested in developing and delivering a capital project
About This Seminar
The governing body has a legal responsibility to conduct the college with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement. In accordance with this responsibility the LSC expects all colleges to agree a college property strategy covering three years that will create the environment best suited to enable staff and learners to achieve their maximum potential. This strategy must reflect the regional capital plans developed to ensure the delivery of anticipated local education and training needs.
Capital bids resulting from the agreed property strategy must conform to the prevalent rules and regulations related to capital grant allocations and be developed in accordance with LSC guidance.
This seminar will guide governors to an understanding of their role in a capital development project.
