About This Seminar
The safety and welfare of children means protecting children from physical, emotional or sexual abuse, or neglect. Child protection is the responsibility of all staff within the school. The seminar will overview the legal framework within which schools operate and explore strategies for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils in delegate's own schools.

Presenter Ed Bartley
Ed was headteacher of an all age special school, leading the school through two highly successful OfSTED inspections against a background of significant change in the schools pupil population. Ed has also worked extensively within mainstream SEN settings. More recently Ed was seconded by his LEA to undertake research on inclusion, visiting LEAs and schools of good practice and compiling research findings that are contributing towards successful inclusion strategies. Ed is currently Chair of Governors in a mainstream school, which was recently judged by OfSTED to be 'outstanding' and is a member of a Schools Forum.
