The meeting will begin at 10.00am, with tea/coffee and registration from 9.30am, a light lunch will be available from 12.30pm, and the session will end at approx 3.30pm.
Gaining and giving respect
This session aims to enable individuals to develop positive strategies for managing negative behaviour. We will look at how to handle individuals who exhibit negative behaviour and how to recognise the causes and consequences of conflict. In order to be successful at this we will need to examine our own behaviour and attitudes towards negativity and look at ways to nurture healthy inter-personal relationships in order to develop self-esteem and that “ feel good “ factor
Kate Axford
Kate Axford is an experienced ,highly qualified practitioner with experience in social work, counselling and education. At present she runs an Inclusion Unit in a thriving inner city comprehensive which has recently received an “Outstanding” for its Behaviour for Learning Policy and Inclusion. She also runs training courses and consultancy work for LAs.

The session will include a variety of discussion and practical activities:

Planning a response to behavioural difficulties including pupil management and motivation - 12.30 Light Lunch

Effective listening - 2.30 Sharing knowledge, understanding and practice
- 3.30 Summary, Evaluation, Close and plans for the next network meeting
