About This event
Some special schools have felt threatened by the inclusion agenda and many are unsure about what role they should play in the future. The DfES has recognised that special schools will have a continuing and vital role to play within a more inclusive system, working in partnership with mainstream colleagues. The aim of this event is to explore this changing role and examine what the special school of the future might look like.

The Benefits of Attending
  • To understand the inclusion framework within which schools should be working
  • To clarify the role special schools can play within a more inclusive system
  • To identify specific strategies for developing partnerships with mainstream providers
  • To clarify the key role of the school inclusion co-ordinator
  • To explore possible models for the successful special school of the future
  • To feel positive and encouraged about the future direction of special needs education and delegates own contribution to that future
