About This event
This event is designed for teaching assistants and other support workers at all key stages who might encounter child protection issues with those children they are supporting. The event will cover legislation, policies and procedures as well as the nature of abuse and support for the children affected by it. It will use a variety of delivery methods including powerpoint/OHP presentation, video, group discussion and activity.

Presenter Peter Gittins
Peter is an Educational Trainer and Consultant who has had teaching and senior management experience in primary and secondary schools. He was the Head of a successful primary school for 21 years. He now writes and delivers training courses and national qualifications for teaching assistants and those who manage them. He also works with Local Education Authorities developing training opportunities for teaching assistants. He is an external moderator for a wide variety of vocationally-related qualifications and is an HLTA assessor.
