My computer will not let me install anything.?
Question: I've tried to download Google earth and it wont let me, and I've tried to play games on Yahoo! Messenger and it wont even let me play that. im running THE latest software available for windows xp, and tried to turn off my firewall to see if that would hep and it didn't. any help would be greatly appreciated. like everytime it pops up on messenger it says that something is wrong with your active x controls

Sounds that you've got a some virus on your computer, that's why it won't allow you to download anything from the internet. Do you have an anti-virus? If you have, unplug the internet cable and scan your computer. If none, try to get a USB flash drive and try downloading an anti-virus from another computer. Then insert the USB flash drive to your computer and download it, the scan it with the internet cable unplugged.
first of all many viruses are created daily and also the anti-viruses. there are many,many kind of viruses.. one such kind is called "stealth virus"..it means it won't be detected by anti-virus software while scanning. there is a code which hides the virus from anti-virus. another type is called "logic bomb". it means the code will run every time when a particular condition is satisfied. so as an example in your case it may be like that "whenever you run the installer for avast,shut-down the computer". "use the best anti-virus". avast is definitely good..but you should also understand that wherever there is windows there are viruses. windows and viruses are like brothers. they simply can not live without each other. ..:d.. SO, see what anti-virus can be installed on your computer..if any succeeds then do a full system-scan..remove the viruses detected. try cleaning your registry(softwares like tune-up utilities can help).remove temporary files. point is make ur system clean.. never run windows without anti-virus..if none works then format ur computer(take back-ups first)..and after formatting the first thing to do is to install a good anti-virus.. i would suggest you to use linux(ubuntu mostly). if you purely do internet,watch movies,play songs,work with documents,spreadsheets and presentations .. most linux distributions don't even require an anti-virus.they are totally secured.though viruses for linux are also there but it is still very less vulnerable like windows. linux ain't for games. if u r a heavy gamer then pl go for windows. hope this helps..

No. In order to read an ISO file, the PC has to be running software that lets it decode the ISO file. If you boot from the USB, it would not be running the software and so could not read the ISO file. I am not sure are you the administrator? maybe you should try some other software download it from your friends pc put it on a usb and install it on your pc...
