Does someone have to replace car seats if they get into a fender bender?
Question: I unfortunately was driving around the block from my house & it looked like a car was pulling to park on the right hand side of the road. I moved to the left to pass her and she ran right into the side of me. I got out of the car to talk to her and she was irate asking me why I was going to the left side of her. I told her it looked like she was pulling to the right. She insisted she had her blinker on, but I sure didn't see it. Her neighbors came out and said she had her blinker on, but I doubt they really saw if she did or not. They are going to say anything because they're her friend and neighbor. What's the chance of two neighbors seeing all of this at the same time living in different houses? I decided I was ganged up on so I told her i would pay to have her car fixed. There was a little mark and it looks like the wheel frame got a mark in it also. I said I thought it might cost $1000.00 but she said it would probably be WAY more than that. I just finally told her to find out what it's going to be & I'll pay her. I asked her to please not get our insurance companies involved because it would be more expensive and be on our records. She insisted that the two car seats in the back of her car were very expensive and by law I will have to replace those too. There's nothing wrong with them, you've got to be kidding me. I told her I'd get her new car seats if she wants. I asked her if she would like to look at the damage done to my car and she said she didn't care what happened to mine. I assured her I'd pay & gave her my name and license number and phone number. Because my phone number is easy she didn't believe I was giving her a correct number.(LOL) That is my number, and she saw my name and my drivers license, and she has the license plate number on my car. I will pay, what do you think this will cost? Maybe $2,000.00?? I'll give it to her just get rid of her. I was willing to give it to right then & there. Good Lord! I can't stop crying. I don't think it was my fault but I don't know what else to do. Do I really have to replace two car seats in the back of her car? The damage to her car is in the front side no where near those car seats. Good grief. I was in another fender bender two months ago & my insurance is fighting it out with them. This is why I don't want to turn into them. Both times they aren't going to believe it wasn't my fault. I just want to make it go away. I'm shaking and can't stop crying. She is unreasonable but I'm willing to pay her money to leave me ALONE. I for sure don't want to tell her about the other accident. I'm starting to doubt myself now being in two different ones so close to each other.

Aren't you insured? Let the insurance companies fight it out. I don't see why the rear seats would be replaced.
Take it to a shop or a dealership if you don't know how to do this. Alot of people say that when a fuse blows you just have to keep replacing it... No. You have to first fix what makes it blow up, then install a new fuse. A fuse is blown by a short to ground on the circuit. If you think you can do it. Get a wiring diagram for the power seats of your car and look for the shorted wire to ground. After you fix it install the new fuse.
If the front of her car is damaged and the side of yours is damaged, then SHE HIT YOU. Go ahead and turn it in to your insurance. Get her information and then give her the number for your insurance company. If you tell someone you will pay for the damages they will ALWAYS try and get more. And no, it is NOT state law to replace the car seats unless some criteria are met. For one there was a child in it. Two, the accident was hard enough to deploy the airbags, and three, the seat belt retractors need replaced. But since none of this happened with your accident, don't worry about it. Just give this person get their insurance info and then call them both. What will probably happen is that since your stories won't match up, they will call it a draw and you both will be on your own for the repairs. So please, relax, and hand it over to the insurance companies.
because of my career, I own alot of computers (i have to do alot of cross platform testing). Each of my employees has one in the city (thats 5). My office in the city has 2 at the moment. and at home I have currently 5 computers (2 of which are dedicated servers). One of those computers I bought new a BILLION years ago. I didnt even look like a man when I bought it. I have had no issues with it but since its not very powerful (compared to my newer stuff)... I just use it for simple things like playing music (i dont use my stereo anymore) and sending emails. I will replace it when it kicks the bucket or runs away. For business reasons, I cant use my business computer for personal stuff like playing games. Thats what i use my old computer for. I usually use harddrive failures as an excuse to buy newer computers (my stuff is always backuped so i dont worry about it). I rarely get computers fixed when they have major failure. I just get something new. I have so many dozens of mice laying around that I cant ever see buying one of those again.
It sounds to me that either you have really bad luck or you're a really bad driver. Either way, if you don't call the police it's pretty much he said she said (or she said she said because men shouldn't cry). My advice if you don't want your insurance company to jack up your rates and/or drop you and/or leave you on the hook for your stuff, is to either a)START PAYING ATTENTION to driving when you're driving, or b)take driving lessons. There are some idiot drivers on the road, this accident sounds like two idiots meeting in person. Don't settle out of court, do it THROUGH insurance.
I have to tell you that the first time that I took a computer for repair they changed the motherboard. I took it home and it was a problem with the keyboard. It is much easier for them to change the motherboard than to figure out what is wrong with it. I have had to replace the mouse, the keyboard and the cd players often enough. Keep your system but just try to google your problem or ask here and do not take it to the geeks. Google system fan error and keep looking, you will do better than the geeks. Did you have sound by the way when they installed the motherboard that they replaced? Sometimes the cards don't like it where they are and they need to be switched around and they work. The geeks would not think of that either!
