HELP!!! removable disk drive gone, how to upload pictures?
Question: ..whenever i plug my digtial camera in to the usb port it does the little daling!!! noise, whatever.....then it says device working properly! Ya great! but when I used to open my computer it said Removable Disk Drive, i used to click on that and I was able to view my pictures and drag them onto my computer.....but now Removable Disk Drive isnt there and I dont know how to access my pictures! help...i have installed the driver and everything, it must be a problem with windows? HELP PLEASE

If restarting the computer does not fix the problem, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray (near the clock) and see if the device has a drive letter (it will say E: in parentheses or some other letter). If there is no drive letter, you will have to assign one. Right click My Computer (from the desktop) and choose Manage. Go to Storage, Disk Management. In the Volumes list, right-click the camera volume and choose Change Drive Letter and Paths. Click the Change button in the window that pops up, and give it a drive letter that is not being used for anything else (local disk, network drive, removable disk). Click Ok, exit, and it should work...
Sometimes external drives are not assigned drive name even though correct drivers are installed. In such case you may try: Right-click on My Computer, select Manage. In the Computer Management window select Storage and double-click on Disk Management. Right-click on the drive that is not recognized and select Change Drive Letter and Paths... Then click on Change button and select one drive letter. Finally confirm.
There may be few problem, first you have to make sure the driver of you digital camera, you can reverse it back (rollback the driver). If something wrong with camera, then you can purchase external card reader (SD Card Reader, Due Pro Card reader) for about $ 10 over the internet.
Is your operating system on the SATA drive? If not, then it shouldn't really matter. You should be able to designate it as a hard drive, but if you are not running your computer exclusively from this drive then there really should not be any difference.
Check the camera and make sure it's in the right mode. In the settings menu there should be a way to set the USB to "Mass Storage" mode or something similar.
If Its A Flash Card Reader You're Referring To And You're Sure That You're Inserting The Card Correctly. More Then Likely Either The Card Reader Or The Flash Card Itself Are Bad.
