My ipod nano wont turn off i just got it?
Question: I didnt get a manual. I tried holding down the menu/play&pause button went black but no apple thing and when i wud press another button it would come back on same with holding play/pause it goes black screen no apple and when i press another button it just comes back up. Help?

You have to hold down the MENU button and the CENTER button together until the apple logo appears, this is called a re start. In order to turn your ipod off regularly just hold down the pause button until the screen goes black. There is nothing else to do, if you press another button it will automatically turn back on. This is just the way they are. There is nothing wrong with your ipod.
Plug it into your computer. Do a factory reset. If that doesn't work the iPod is broken. If it won't connect to iTunes, try holding the power and hold button until you see the apple logo. Plug it in if it is dead/thinks its dead. If that doesn't work try draining the battery until it won't even try to turn on, then plug it in and don't touch it until it reaches a full charge. It may take a while for it to die all the way, especially if it won't turn on. If none of this works, you may want to try bringing it to the apple store. My brother got one of his apple products repaired for free even though the warranty was long expired. The battery "exploded" so to speak, and they said it should not have happened, so they replaced it free.
It's the middle button and the top menu button that you have to hold for three seconds or more. You are holding the play button which is not correct. Toggle the hold button on and off for a bit and then press middle button and top menu button simultaneously for three seconds and don't let go until you see the apple faintly.
It means that ur usb drive is outdated and too slow to use, if its on a computer, talk to an IT person or maybe sumone else will answer that, if on a laptop, then u can buy a faster set to plug into it. Hope this helped, Nuker2guy
U did the right thing ur supposed to hold down the menu/play&pause button until the screen goes black and then ur supposed to switch the button on the top so ur not wasting any battery, then if u want to turn it back on then u switch the button on the top and click any button then it will turn back on
