Windows 8 Laptop black screen and lost ALMOST EVERYTHING!?
Question: So my pc kept getting a KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR soi googled it and i did the chksdsk /f C: command in my cmd and restarted my computer. After that it started scanning and repairing but it was stuck on 28% so i googled that and it lead me to a black screen! so of course i googled that too because im helpless and all that lead me to was refreshing my computer so i did that and the computer restarted! every app is gone and all my games and my antivirus is gone! :'( So i got mad and restarted my computer again and now im back to the black screen again. I have no CD's to fix this and im completely lost and worried! does anyone know how to fix this and maybe put everything back to normal like get all my missing apps back?

On the desktop screen, right click it then click the Properties, click the Screen Savers tab then scroll up the minutes in the Wait section. Then disable the password protect on Resume. It Should Help You.
The only suggestion I can make is for you to do a system restore to a time before your problem started. to get to the restore program you will have to restart and force a safe mode screen option
+If you cannot boot into Safe Mode, then it sounds like the operating system has become corrupted/unstable. You will probably need to either do a repair or completely reinstall the OS. Both of those options are available when you boot from the installation CD. I would not recommend you do a complete reinstall using the format option however. That will completely erase your hard disk first before it reinstalls the OS. Either way, you will probably lose the functionality of most (if not all) of your applications.
sounds like a hard drive error, your screwed. If you don't know how, find someone who installs operating systems for money and go to them.
