Question: got the old blue screen of death happening. only prob is the keyboard, it works fine to begin with i can get into BIOS and do stuff there but after that it gives me the option to select "safemode/Last Known Good Configuration etc..but when i get to this stage the keyboard stops being responsive. ive tried other keyboards same thing works then dies. and i cant hit "anykey" when i boot from CD either. any ideas would be helpful oh and the blue screen happens before I'm able to log in so all i can do i poke around in BIOS than after that nothing

I'm not sure which F function it is on your laptop but restart the laptop and keep clicking F2. This will bring up the bios screen where you'll be able to run a diagnostic. However, since your screen isn't working the bios screen might not show up or it might use a different function key. Google your laptop model and type bios startup.

Try unplugging your computer for a few minutes (completely off the power). Then try booting into the bios and load the default bios settings. If that does not help, you most likely have a problem with your motherboard :(
The IRQL error is usually a driver error. On the BSOD screen, it usually gives you a filename indicating which driver is causing the problems.
