Question: At the first of May, I started eating healthier. I dropped white bread, and went to wheat and whole grain (depending on how much money we had to spend). I started tracking what I eat in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to keep track of what I was putting into my body. So far, nothing sticks out as unhealthy. I switched from chips to fat free cheese sticks and fiber bars. Fruit for snacks when we have it. Cantaloupe, apples, blueberries... I no longer drink soda, either. Last week, I started walking more. At the YMCA, I started using the elliptical machine. 30 minutes of cardio on that. 10 minutes of warm-up and cool-down on the treadmill. And some strength training with weights and crunches, pull-ups, and other exercises on the machines. I eat around 1600 to 1700 calories a day. I'm 5"4, female, and weigh 163 lbs. So far, I've gained a total of 2 pounds... Am I doing something wrong? I'm not going to eat 1200 calories a day, get to my goal weight, and then switch it up to a healthier calorie number. I'll just gain weight all over again. I'm eating the number of calories I should be eating at my goal weight. I'm going to live my life at my goal weight, so when I reach it, I don't have to force my body to adjust to something new all over again.
