Question: An answer I just got in response to one of my other questions prompted me to ask this one. I have a great computer (2.4 gigahertz quad core with 4 gigabytes of RAM). I wanted to upgrade from the 32 bit version of Vista Home Premium to the 64 bit version Windows 7 Ultimate, so it can recognize all of my RAM. This computer, however, only goes up to a 0maximum of 8 gigs, whereas a lot of the newer ones will hold much more RAM. I do play games on my computer, but I don't do a lot of graphic intensive gaming (most of the new games I play right now require about 1 gig of RAM). The cost of Windows Vista Ultimate, as you may know, is $ 319.99. I don't know how much longer this computer will last (as far as system requirements). I'm happy with Vista, but it has many annoying things I would be glad to get rid of (such as hanging on shut down, the constant pop-ups, and it is a little slower than Windows 7, and, of course, it doesn't recognize all of my RAM). Would you upgrade to Windows 7 now or wait? This is a 64 bit capable computer.
