Question: I used the number on the bottom of my laptop, and it came out as invalid and i have a very important essay due on monday. what can i do to get the number. I don't have the CD if that helps with your answer

Well, the numbers below your laptop are the Serial Key for the Operating System that your computer is currently using. You cannot use that Serial Key on Microsoft Office. Microsoft Office should have came with its own Serial Key, should you have bought a legal copy of it. If you don't have the CD for Microsoft Office, you need to buy a full licence, or in other words, buy the Microsoft Office 2007 CD. You can probabaly find them at BestBuy or FutureShop for about $150 for the Student versions. Hope this helped! P.S. You can also try StarOffice or OpenOffice. Word 2007 will do your works cited page for you. Just click on the "References" tab. Then click "Manage Sources" and "new." Add your sources, and then, on the main page, click "Bibliography" and select a "works cited" choice. Hope that helps.
The number is for your operating system, not for Office. Your version of Office is a trial. You need to pay for the full licence and Microsoft give you the key.
