I downloaded Internet Explorer 10. How do I switch back to Internet Explorer 9?
Question: I hate IE 10. I really miss the version I had with IE 9. Please don't tell me to switch to a completely different browser. I switched to Firefox for 3 weeks when I found I hated IE 10. (My teen-aged daughter suggested it.) I really didn't like Firefox. I'm sure it's great and all that, but it requires learning some different tricks and none of my bookmarks were there. I really was quite happy with IE 9. I just want to get that version back. How do I do this?

Here is how to switch back to Internet Explorer 9: 1. Open Internet Explorer 10. 2. In the address bar, type http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/inter... (you can also copy and paste that). 3. Press "Enter". 4. Click on "Select your version". 5. Click on the version of Windows 7 that you have. If you are unsure of which version you have, follow steps 5a-5d. 5a. Click on the start button. 5b. Right-click on "Computer". 5c. Click on "Properties". 5d. Look under "System>System type". You will see one of the following: • 32-bit Operating System • x84 • 64-bit Operating System If you see "32-bit Operating System" or "x84", then select "Windows 7 32-bit" on the Microsoft webpage you have open. Likewise, if you see "64-bit Operating System", then select "Windows 7 64-bit" on the Microsoft webpage you have open. 6. Click on "Free download". 7. Save the file. 8. Navigate to where the file was saved to. Usually, this would be in the "Downloads" folder. If you are unsure of how to get to the Downloads folder, follow steps 8a-8b. 8a. IE9 nor 10 aren't listed in the Control Panel. They are in the list of installed Windows Updates. Click on Start and in the search box, type "View Installed Updates" (w/o the quotes) and press Enter key. Scroll down the list and find Windows Internet Explorer 10. Right click on it and select Uninstall. After that, reinstall IE9 by downloading this: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/det... If you have a 64-bit OS, use this instead: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/det... To know what OS version you have, press the WinLogo + Pause keys. See the System Type. By the way, if bookmarks were your main problem against using Firefox, did you know that you can synchronize your IE's favorites so they will also appear on Firefox? Don't quite understand the problem you are having. However, to go back to IE7 you need to go to control panel and add/remove programs. THEN (and here is the importent bit) you click on the option at the top left: Installed Updates. IE8 beta will appear on the list of installed updates (under Windows Internet Explorer Version 8 Beta 2). Taking it off will automatically put IE7 back in place.
Probably can google IE 9. Delete IE 10 from your program manager. Than you can download whatever you want. Some others are Safari and Google Chrome which are pretty good, but if your doing work with your school/work they sometimes require IE.. Laguardia ftw ^^ freshman, instrumental :)
I was just going to ask if you had Norton, then you added it! Thank you! To unblock IE: 1. Open Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall. 2. Click "Personal Firewall" (if you are using Norton Firewall, skip this step.) 3. Configure it by clicking "Configure". 4. Then it opens the configuration window, click the "Programs" tab. 5. Then in Manual Program Control. 6. Find Microsoft Internet Explorer in the list. 7. Click "Modify". 8. Select "Automatically Configure Internet Access" or "Permit Always" 9. Click "Ok". That should do it and that step unblocks IE. I'm so glad it worked!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!
