Connected to internet but browsers won't load pages/very slow?
Question: Since the desktop is connected to my modem I tried first resetting the modem to fix the problem but no luck. And then I received a message about my DNS not working, so after trying to reset, renew and registerdns through the command prompt, I still ended up with nothing. The message of my DNS not working soon ended but the problem still persist. I then ran sfc.exe /scannow to validate my systems, and with a boot up after, my computer slowly gained its speed back and was also able to run just normally. However, after a few hours of usage, I came to realize that the slow speed came up again, and eventually the pages won't load (unless they were in my cache). I tried trouble shooting it but my computer finds nothing. No viruses so I didn't expect anything there. I tried turning off my firewall that didn;t help. its just that all of a sudden my browser (firefox ,IE, chrome) just will not load anything. IT would take multiple reloads just for a page to fully load. though computer is new just a year old (gateway fx) though connected by cable the connection to the internet would periodically would not work and I would have to reset my modem just to restart again, which I expected caused the problem. Wifi works just fine from my laptop (from which im writing this message from) I could really appreciate the help

Let's go for the simple fix first. TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2. Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog Reboot the machine. Check out how Firefox and IE are configured to connected to the Internet. In Firefox, it's Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings... See if Firefox is configured to use a direct Internet connection.
Unfortunately thing like this come across frequently. Those annoying problem always happen when a system32 file get missing or crash!(Delate C:\WINDOWS\system32com_dmi? If you have high speed internet connection, such problem should not happen. It's not the problem of your computer but the speed of connectivity. Check this factor.
uninstall your modem.drvies then reboot your pc. after coming back install them again look for you mac address is correct and if urmodem need any kind of proxy sk from csr. problem will solved.
if it is happening to several PC's then I suggest you do a power refresh on both you router and modem. Unlug from power for about 30 seconds or more.
