Question: I have a 1993 Toyota Tercel with 248k km's. It had a rebuilt engine in 2008, a new timing kit put in this year, new spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, and air filter within the last 2 months. For the last couple weeks I've had a problem where it will stall at a light about once a day. It only happens once the car is warm but sometimes soon after starting it and sometimes after a full day of driving with no problems. The car idles very smooth and has been checked out by a mechanic with the timing adjusted, plug gap's adjusted and no other problems found by him. After the car stalls, I can't restart it for about 5 minutes or so and then it is fine again. I have to pump the gas to get it to start. I thought it was maybe the ignition coil so i took it out and tested it and the resistance of the primary coil was 0.9 ohms (the range in my manual says it should be 0.3-0.6 ohms). The secondary coil was well within range, I'm wondering is this enough of a difference in the primary coil to have to replace the whole ignition coil which will cost me about $75 or is this not the problem. I've also seen suggestions of the IAC valve and throttle body and will check those as soon as I can this weekend. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
