Question: I bought a Logitech mouse from the local thrift store for around two bucks, and aside from one scratch on the top, it is in perfect condition. I have used this mouse reliably for quite a few months now, more than six. Recently (in noticeably in games) it will "hang" and lose power, soon reactivating a few seconds later. This has gotten me killed quite a few times in games like TF2 and Unreal Tournament. Anyway, I was wondering if there was anything I could do to fix this; or if anyone else had had a similar problem. I have tried my other newer optical USB mouse and it DOESN'T have this problem, so I know it's not the port. But I would still like to fix my old one. I think this mouse is originally meant for a laptop because it has an extremely short cord that comes with an extension; could that be causing problems somehow? I haven't abused or dropped anything to do with my computer, so I don't see why it would be broken all the sudden ... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I forgot to mention sometimes it will hang without powering down then come back. When it does turn off, the 'eject USB' sound quickly plays in windows before the 'insert USB' sound follows it and the power comes back on. Also I have already unchecked 'allow computer to turn off this device to save power' on all the USB hubs in device manager.
